July-sary!

So fast, it is another month again, our monthsary aka present time is here again.

My dearest hubby bought me a long-awaited Coach trenchcoat when we were up in Atlanta's outlet mall.

By a twist of luck, I managed to get the same trenchcoat in beige colour for half the price of this blue one in San Diego...whoopeeee

I was terribly touched when the gals showed up with my fave Bangawan Solo Pandan Chiffon cake! Yummy, taste of home. Thank you babes!

For Fiza...

A long awaited picture...this pretty little lass in my arms is Elizabeth, Alfi' s precious darling and coincidental also Fiza's niece!
The world is really small! Haha anyway it was very thrilling to meet my friend's sister half the world across, and it feel almost like I had know Alfi for a long long time. Her character is like Fiza, very bubbly and friendly, I m missing the both of them already!
I am finally home from our great California trip!

Taken at one of the lovely spot along the scenic drive...
Tons of stories to tell... great company, lovely scenery, tons of shopping, yummy food! That's a truly fabulous holiday.

So happy to meet so many wives of WSOs and pilots (the army's wives' club)

Miss all the gals' talk which I will be doing soon with Carina and Irene
(Dont blame me if I can't stop talking gals!)

The chic young lady in the picture is Ariel, she is uber adorable, she is 2 with a younger brother, Joshua. They are the children of Jughead and Jess who is a very hip mommy!
I hope to see them again in the future.

Countdown 1 day to SF!
A special note to thanks all the gals for their curry paste and snacks! *Gam dong*

Highlight of the Atlanta's trip

The highlight of the trip has to be the laser show coupled with fireworks for the celebration of Independence Day at the Stone Mountain Park. The rock has a Confederate Memorial Carving which can be best viewed by the Summit Skyride and upon the top of the mountain, you get a good view of the surrounding lands. It is the most spectacular display of fireworks I had ever seen...wooohooo

The next most fun thing would be the Atlanta Pride Festival, it is the annual event celebrating gay pride. Despite the rain and thunder, the spirits were high! They will throw mardi gras beads and what-nots from their parade cars.
Me with my mardi gras beads!

Happy 4th July @ City of Coca Cola

We went for a short trip to Atlanta for the long weekend.

Is Atlanta fun?

*Evil Grin* I must say YES!

We went to Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca Cola on our 1st day, to be honest I didnt know Coke originated from this city.

Georgia Aquarium is the world's largest aquarium, I guess once you have tried diving, seeing fishes in enclosed glass showcases just do not do it for you.

World of Coca Cola is basically a huge advertising medium to show how much happiness Coke has bring to everyone across the world. The tasting room was fun, they feature vending machine for 60 different soft drinks and you can drink to your joy but there is this much fizz one can take!

I will continue my Atlanta's experience in later posts...countdown 3 days to Carina and Irene's arrival!

Ringling Bros

We went to our first Ringling Bros circus show 2 weeks ago, it is a famous circus which was founded in USA in 1884.

Just what one would expect in a circus- animal shows, acrobatics, and etc etc...

Only qualm I had was the way the horses were made to perform, 6 horses are made to run within a circle (clockwise) and they have to change their directions (anti-clockwise) each time the trainer lift his whip. He started off quite slowly but he increased the speed to every 5 seconds, hence the horses have to change their direction every few seconds, one can see that the horses are very disorientated by the rapid change in direction. The horses must have suffered alot during their training to be so responsive to the whip.

Another un-natural act would be the tigers who purred and dance with the animal trainer.

New found friends!

From the left: David Chun, Linda Chun, Alvin Soh, Huiling & baby Anika Chun and Kenny Khoo

A day at McGuire's Irish Pub with the Chun Family, we got to know Linda at the supermarket hehe while shopping for groceries and it turned out that Alvin knows her hubby, David.

Cool! We had a farewell lunch for Alvin at McGuire which is famous for their steaks and beer.

They brew 5 regular beers and even their own root beer which is to die for! Their walls are plastered with one dollar bills signed by their many customers.
Their toilets are interestingly confusing- the signs are on opposite gender toilet doors *grinz*

Time to go to the supermarket to pick up more female friends, desperately missing being surrounded by beings of oestrogen!

Farewell to June and Welcome July! Looking forward to the big road trip with Carina and Irene (gosh, i miss those girls so much!) whooopeeeeeee....California, here we come!
