As all know, being a housewife leaves me with ample time on hand to google around on what is happening in Pensacola.

"Pensacola’s celebrated free outdoor concert series, Evenings in Olde Seville Square, returns for its 21st season of elegant evenings of music under the stars. The 2008 series features 14 concerts, satisfying musical tastes from big band to jazz to reggae each Thursday from 7–9 p.m., May 15–August 14 in historic Seville Square in downtown Pensacola."

How cool is that?

We decided (or rather my hubby and his friends) decided to go Fish House as it is nearby and they like the food. It is a great place to eat, admire the sun set and listen to a live band...
I prefer Fish House to Flounders, both in terms of food and ambience.
After which we went over to Seville Square for the concert which was already in full swing, alot of families with their picnic chairs and table all over the lawn. Yesterday performance was by One of the most popular party bands of the southeast, Tim Jackson’s Mr. Big. They played a crowd-pleasing mix of New Orleans Jazz, American pop, beach music and country. For more information, please visit http://www.pensacola.com/pages/events/

A quote from Ryan- I never knew there are so many people in Pensacola.

Anyway the boys decided to appoint me as the social secretary because I know more about Pensacola in the short 5 days since I arrive.

I saw the Blue Angels in action today...and have been hearing them the whole morning. I saw 4 planes just like this picture, flying very close to each other and flying very low
whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooosh....

Did I mention there are more squirrels in the garden outside, more than birds which I have yet to see many. In fact, I saw more aeroplanes flying above me than birds even.

Also I have to say the base's gym is very good, each threadmill come with personal tv which you can choose from many many channels and headphone to plug in and listen. There are also lessons (yoga, pilates etc) all day long but first, I have to figure my way around. All the buildings look the same and there are so many turns...

Sorry if today's post is very messy haha if you know me, thats usually how I talked to my friends as well. I change topic within seconds ;)

I have already asked Carina, Genevieve, my mom and my auntie...

First we tried to cook it by searing it on pans, but the middle seem very raw, mushy then we cut it into half and stir fry abit...it still taste relatively uncooked. (haha) Then we just covered the pan and let it simmer for 5 mins....by then it is totally cooked but kind of lost its sweetness which we get in proper restaurants!

Arrrrr...I was so excited to see big juicy scallops haha hoping to re-create my favourite crystal jade kitchen's scallop porridge.
I wonder is it very expensive- we bought around 5 scallops for 5USD...but the scallops are really big, compared to a wedge of normal sized lemon.

Here it is- Joe Patti, where fresh seafood is sold! Brought in everyday by Captain Joe!

It feel weird to be half a day slower than Home

Finally finally a blog of my own! ... never had the intention to start a blog despite how much I enjoyed others'.

A good way to let my dearest friends know what is happening to me on the other side of the world.

After 17 hours of SIN-LAX (8 hours of pointless waiting at the airport, found some Singaporeans who are waiting for their plane home), 2 hours LAX-Dallas (3 hours of waiting yet again at the aiport) and finally the last flight 2 hours to Pensacola, my, or rather our home for the next 1 year!

This is recived with surprise =) thanks to my dearest hubby
All the fruits are very sweet (which is uncommon for giant strawberries haha I am biased!)

Flounder's Chowder House

Address: 800 Quietwater Beach Rd, Pensacola, FL 32561
Phone: 850-932-2003

Average price is around USD 20 per pax
Great service and ambience, food was so-so in my opinion (didnt take any pictures, figured out it was not very nice to take pics of his friends' food after meeting them for 5 mins)

It is situated on the beach itself with a children playground, a beach volleyball court, very nice and casual informal dining for a group of friends to chill out.
The alcoholic drinks are served in mason jugs, for one to bring it home as souvenirs.
cost ard USD 10 for 1.

The weather is still nice at this point in time- sunny with wind, Kenny told me it will be more humid than home when July/Aug comes (so not looking forward to that).

It feel weird to be 13 hrs behind Singapore, as spoken to Carina this morning. I spoke to her last night (which is her afternoon-working) and this morning I was like "Good morning!!...blah blah" she was like omg I am still working while you slept and woke up hahaha but I will attribute that to Carina being a workaholic and myself a housewife!
